(C) Visits and International Conferences Sub-division
The Sub-division runs the Department's sponsored VIP visitors programme, which targets opinion-formers and decision-makers for visits to the territory as guests of the government, with a view to enhancing their understanding of Hong Kong. These visitors include government and political leaders, academics, think-tankers; and, in the business sector, leading bankers and heads of financial institutions and the captains of commerce and industry.

The sub-division also arranges visit programmes for other non-sponsored VIPs coming to Hong Kong on private visits. The
sub-division runs an Overseas Speakers Programme with the aim of providing and reinforcing foreign investors' confidence in Hong Kong and to promote Hong Kong as Asia's world city. The programme utilises the time and talents of senior government officials and stakeholders from the private sector in a variety of settings and formats: conferences, seminars, conventional speaking engagements to influential audiences, meetings, editorial boards, press interviews, and briefing sessions. The sub-division also assists bureaux / departments to identify suitable international conferences that should be attracted for hosting in Hong Kong.
