Application for registration as a service provider for
(1) Publicity and TV commercials (Announcements in the Public Interest) (APIs)
This category is for companies that can provide advertising and publicity services and/or produce TV commercials. Typically, companies will be asked to develop an advertising campaign for a Government policy or initiative, and/or to develop the creative concept and produce a 30-second TV commercial, known as an Announcement in the Public Interest, or API.
(2) Video production (non-API)
This category is for companies that can produce corporate-style videos/films. Typically, companies will be asked to develop a storyboard or creative concept for a promotional video or short film that publicises the policies, initiatives or work of a Government Bureau or Department.
To register in (1) and (2) above, your company will need:
(a) Sufficient resources and expertise to produce Government Documentaries and/or APIs in both English and Chinese;
(b) A thorough understanding of the local culture and way of life;
(c) Advertising skills, and ability to provide creative input; and
(d) Experience in working with large organisations and committees to produce advertising and promotional videos.
To register in (1) above, additionally your company will need:
(a) Experience and expertise in providing a full range of advertising services including development of creative concepts; production of TV and radio APIs, documentaries, posters, leaflets, print and outdoor advertisements and souvenirs; media consultancy and placement, and English and Chinese copywriting for public service campaigns; and
(b) Experience in advertising/publicity strategy formulation.
Any production company/advertising agency not currently included in the ISD's list of approved service providers can now write to ISD (address below) for an application form for registration in one or both of these categories. The completed application form should be accompanied by a brief company profile and a showreel including documentaries, Government APIs and/or television commercials produced within the last 12 to 18 months for our reference and evaluation.
If the documents and showreel provided are found to be in order, the company will be formally registered as a service provider for the ISD.
ISD will invite the approved service providers to submit quotations and/or proposals for these services when opportunities arise.
The continued inclusion in the list will depend on the companies' ability to offer competitive quotations and on their performance in connection with any order(s) or contract(s) which they have been awarded.
ISD reserves the right to review the status of a company from updates that may affect its status.
