Prevention of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome
Dr. S. M. Kumta
Prince of Wales Hospital
(English Translation)
SARS can be transmitted by respiratory droplets.
If you cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with a handkerchief or tissue.
If you spit, use a tissue and discard it in a covered bin.
Wash your hands often with liquid soap, and dry them with a disposable towel.
Do not share towels with others.
Before touching your eyes, nose or mouth, wash your hands.
After touching surfaces in public areas, wash your hands.
To keep your home hygienic, mix one part of bleach with 99 parts of water, and clean it daily with this solution, then rinse with water.
Remember, good personal and environmental hygiene help to prevent SARS.
